FAQ Schema Generator with an AI-Readiness Score

Type or paste your questions and answers. You get valid FAQPage JSON-LD to copy, plus a 100-point check of how easy each answer is to quote on its own. Nothing you type leaves this page.

As of October 2026: Google stopped showing FAQ rich results in Search on May 7, 2026. FAQPage is still a valid schema.org type that search engines and AI tools can read, so the markup still describes your page. No markup guarantees that an AI assistant will quote you; clear, self-contained answers are the part you control.

Same 8 checks as the GEO score in our free WordPress plugin. It measures answer structure, not rankings.

Add at least one question and answer.

Check the result in the Schema Markup Validator. Google’s Rich Results Test no longer reports FAQ items.

How to add the code to WordPress

Visible questions and the JSON-LD should match: Google’s structured data guidelines ask that marked-up content is visible to users on the page. The “Visible FAQ + JSON-LD” output gives you both in one snippet.

    Option A: Custom HTML block

Add a Custom HTML block where the FAQ should appear and paste the “Visible FAQ + JSON-LD” output. Works with any theme.

    Option B: our free plugin

The AI FAQ Schema block writes the JSON-LD for you, merges several FAQ blocks into one FAQPage and warns you when another plugin adds a second one.

    Avoid: two sources

If Yoast, Rank Math or another FAQ block already marks up the same questions, use one source only. What duplicate FAQ schema costs.

Do this inside the block editor

Free plugin: FAQ block, the same AI-readiness score, llms.txt and AI crawler control. No API key needed.

    FAQ schema generator: common questions

Is FAQ schema still useful after Google retired FAQ rich results?

Google stopped showing FAQ rich results in Search on May 7, 2026, so FAQPage markup no longer earns an expandable snippet there. The markup is still a valid schema.org type that describes your questions and answers to search engines and AI tools. Treat it as a description of the page, not as a ranking or citation boost.

Does this FAQ schema generator store or send my FAQs?

No. The generator runs in your browser with JavaScript and sends nothing to a server. Your last draft is kept in this browser's local storage on your device, so it survives a reload. The Clear button empties the draft, and clearing site data in your browser removes it completely.

What does the AI-readiness score check?

The score runs 8 checks worth 100 points: the answer leads with the answer, the first sentence is 8 to 60 words, there are no "see above" style references or vague endings, there is a number or date, there are no promotional superlatives, the first sentence names its subject, and the answer has 2 or more sentences. It measures structure only and does not predict rankings.

Can a page have two FAQPage blocks?

Two FAQPage blocks are valid JSON-LD, but they describe the same page twice and make it unclear which set of questions is the real one. Use one source per page: this snippet, your SEO plugin's FAQ block, or the AI FAQ Schema block, which merges its own blocks into 1 FAQPage.

Do I need a plugin to add FAQ schema in WordPress?

No. Pasting the Visible FAQ + JSON-LD output into a Custom HTML block works with any WordPress theme. A plugin saves time when you add FAQs to 10 or more posts, because it keeps the visible questions and the JSON-LD in sync each time you edit an answer.
